Organized to strengthen cooperation between the university, the city, and industry; to evaluate Tarsus University’s strategic goals in light of stakeholder feedback; and to develop a shared perspective for the future, the meeting brought together representatives from public institutions, local governments, the business community, and academia.
In his opening remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Özen assessed the transformation of the modern higher education system—drawing on the historical development of the university concept—and the new responsibilities this transformation has placed on universities. Addressing the role of universities not only in knowledge production and educational activities but also in social development, economic growth, and R&D processes, Özen highlighted the multidimensional nature of the evolving concept of higher education.
