Tarsus Üniversitesi’nin temelleri 1992 yılında Mersin Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olarak kurulan Tarsus Meslek Yüksekokulu ile atılmıştır. 2001 yılında Tarsus Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi, 2005 yılında Uygulamalı Teknoloji ve İşletmecilik Yüksekokulu kurulmasıyla eğitim faaliyetlerini genişletmiştir.Bugün itibari ile 4 fakülte, 1 enstitü, 1 yüksekokul ve 2 meslek yüksekokulu ile faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

Tarsus Business Visits and Case Studies Conducted

The event entitled ‘Case Method in Business Administration and Accounting Education’ was organised by Tarsus University, under the auspices of the Assurance Services Association and with the support of MUDEP, in collaboration with the Project Office, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences. It was held in the Şehit İstihkâm Üsteğmen Ozan Olgu Köreke Conference Hall. Approximately 60 academics from 40 universities in different cities across Turkey participated in the programme. A total of nine business visits were made during the event to examine case studies in situ.


The opening speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ali Deran, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Tarsus University, who also moderated the event. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Deran emphasised the importance of academic collaborations, noting that the case study method contributes to analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in business and accounting education.


One of the speakers at the event, Prof. Dr. Ganite Kurt, a faculty member at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, provided information about the association's activities. Prof. Dr. Kurt emphasised the importance of sustainability, green marketing, sustainable finance and social responsibility practices in today's business world and drew attention to the contributions these areas can make to students' career planning.


Prof. Dr. Burcu Adiloğlu, a faculty member at Istanbul University, gave a presentation on the historical development of the case method. Adiloğlu shared examples of the use of business cases in education, highlighting the contributions of Mustafa Aysan, a Harvard University graduate from Tarsus, to the field of case studies.
