Project Duration: 12 Months
Approximately 80% of global transportation is carried out by sea, and ship efficiency cannot exceed 60%. Hydrodynamic resistance is a decisive factor in fuel consumption and emissions. Precise autopilot systems reduce resistance, save fuel, and lower emissions by controlling small angle deviations. In this study, a new generation ship autopilot system that increases energy efficiency and reduces emissions will be designed using real ship data, CFD analyses, and simulations. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde and Oldendorff Carriers.
