The “4th World Social Work Day Workshop,” organized in collaboration between the Department of Social Work at Tarsus University, the Department of Social Work and Counseling at Mersin University, and the Mersin Branch of the Association of Social Work Professionals (SHUDER), brought together academic expertise and field experience on a single platform.
Held under the theme “Social Issues and the Search for Solutions: Building Hope and Harmony Together,” the workshop brought together academics, social work professionals, representatives of public institutions, and students. During the workshop’s breakout sessions and group discussions, key topics such as family and women’s well-being, child well-being, youth well-being, forensic social work, social work in local governance, addiction, disability, aging, poverty, social work in healthcare, school social work, migration and integration, as well as the climate crisis and disasters were addressed. Additionally, solutions to social issues aimed at ensuring the sustainability of social welfare were thoroughly discussed, and feedback reports and final evaluations were shared with the participants.
