Tarsus University hosted the 4th International Conference on Functional Materials Science and Engineering (FunMat 2026). Organized through the strong collaboration of Tarsus University, Toros University, Çukurova University, and Mersin University, the event brought together leading scientists and researchers from around the world in Tarsus.
The opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Ali Özen, Rector of Tarsus University, Prof. Dr. Ömer Arıöz, Rector of Toros University, and Prof. Dr. Osman Murat Özkendir, Vice Rector of Tarsus University and Chair of FunMat 2026.
Following the opening ceremony, distinguished scientists delivered invited talks, including:
Assoc. Prof. Hidetoshi Miyazaki (Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan)
Dr. Mamatimin Abbas (French National Centre for Scientific Research – CNRS, France)
Prof. Dr. Mahmut Kuş (Konya Technical University, Türkiye)
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Akyol (Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University, Türkiye)
Throughout the conference, oral presentations provided valuable opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and research experiences. In addition, the Rectorate foyer area was transformed into a vibrant scientific exhibition space. Poster presentations showcased current research in a wide range of fields, including nanotechnology, biomaterials, energy materials, electronic and photonic materials, composites, ceramics, glasses, and two-dimensional materials. Participants had the opportunity to discuss scientific findings and engage in interactive academic exchanges.
