The Adana Regional Directorate of the Presidency of Communications and the Personnel Directorate of Tarsus University jointly organized an “Awareness Training on Combating Disinformation.” The training addressed the impact of digitalization and new media platforms on the communication environment, as well as the risks posed by disinformation at both the individual and societal levels.

Yasemin Yıldırım, an Education Specialist at the Adana Regional Directorate, who gave a presentation during the program, emphasized that sharing content on digital platforms without verifying its accuracy contributes to information pollution and makes it difficult for the public to access accurate information. As part of the training program, the evolving structure of mass media and information access processes in the digital public sphere were examined, while the effects of social media platforms and AI-supported content production on the flow of information were evaluated. Participants were provided with information on mindful media use, the social impacts of disinformation, content verification mechanisms, the key characteristics of manipulative content, and methods for accessing reliable data sources.
