Tarsus Üniversitesi’nin temelleri 1992 yılında Mersin Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olarak kurulan Tarsus Meslek Yüksekokulu ile atılmıştır. 2001 yılında Tarsus Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi, 2005 yılında Uygulamalı Teknoloji ve İşletmecilik Yüksekokulu kurulmasıyla eğitim faaliyetlerini genişletmiştir.Bugün itibari ile 4 fakülte, 1 enstitü, 1 yüksekokul ve 2 meslek yüksekokulu ile faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

The 2nd IEEE Tarsus Summit was held in collaboration with universities and industry.

Hosted by Tarsus University and organised by the IEEE Tarsus University Student Branch, the 2nd IEEE Tarsus Summit brought engineering students together with leading experts from various sectors. Held on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at the Şehit İstihkâm Üsteğmen Ozan Olgu Köreke Conference Hall, the summit was successfully completed with high attendance.
Featuring a rich programme covering electronics, cyber security, automotive, defence industry and heavy industry, the summit aimed to give students an in-depth understanding of the sectors and guide them in their career planning. Throughout the day-long sessions, experienced speakers addressed topics such as the development of the sectors from past to present, production processes, career opportunities in engineering fields, and key considerations for engineering candidates.
The opening speech of the programme was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Topaklı, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Tarsus University. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Topaklı emphasised the importance of university-industry interaction in engineering education and stated that such organisations make significant contributions to the development of students' professional vision.
During the sessions organised as part of the summit, technology and innovation-focused presentations were delivered, while students had the opportunity to communicate one-on-one with industry representatives and share experiences. The event provided an important platform for collaboration, enabling engineering students to gain both technical knowledge and career awareness.
